David Schatz, Director of Strategy, Utility of the Future at Pepco Holdings
David Schatz is Director of Strategy, Utility of the Future for Pepco Holdings. In this role he leads regulatory initiatives related to the development and deployment of new and emerging energy technologies. These initiatives involve a range of grid-connected solutions, including distributed energy resources, transportation electrification programs, and data-enabled grid components. Prior to his role at Pepco Holdings, David served as Director of Public Policy for ChargePoint, a leading electric vehicle charging network company. In that position he managed regulatory and government affairs engagements related to transportation electrification policy in states across the mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Midwest US. He also served as Deputy Director for Policy and Electricity Markets for SolarCity, a rooftop solar provider that was purchased by Tesla, where he led advocacy to support commercial solar applications nationally. David started his career in and around the Department of Defense, where he led and assisted multiple services to develop and deploy advanced energy projects on bases globally, including vehicle-to-grid and utility-scale solar.
