Richard S. Mroz
Richard Mroz has a long and distinguished career in law, government, public service, and corporate governance. He is Founding Member and Managing Director of Resolute Strategies, LLC and Senior Director of Archer Public Affairs in Trenton, NJ and Washington, DC. He advises clients in the energy, utilities, infrastructure and financial industries. He is also Senior Adviser to Protect Our Power a national non-industry non-profit advocacy organization supporting best practices and investments in cybersecurity and resilience measures for the energy, utility and critical infrastructure industries.
Mr. Mroz is the immediate past President of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) serving as chairman and chief administrative officer of the agency and functioned as the chief energy officer for New Jersey. He was President of the NJBPU from October 2014 until January 2018 and remained as a Commissioner until April 2018.
He was Chairman of the Critical Infrastructure Committee for the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) and led efforts addressing cybersecurity protection, workforce development, and infrastructure improvements in the electric, gas, water and telecommunications industries. He was also the NARUC liaison to the Electric Sector Coordinating Council (ESCC) and served as President of the Organization of PJM States, Inc (OPSI).
Mr. Mroz is currently a member of the USDOE Electric Advisory Committee (EAC) which provides advice to the Department about programs and priorities on issues of the evolving grid, distributed energy resources, and reliability and resilience of the electric system. He is a member of the EAC subcommittee on smart grid development as well the subcommittee on Defense Critical Infrastructure. He is also a Distinguished Corporate Fellow with the Global Resilience Institute at Northeastern University, and a member of the Advisory Board of ClearPath Foundation in Washington, DC.
Mr. Mroz was Chief Counsel to New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman after serving in various capacities in her Administration and was involved in many infrastructure development projects, public private partnership issues, and public finance matters. He has served as a Commissioner of the Delaware River & Bay Authority and began his career in local government as in house solicitor to Camden County, New Jersey. Of particular note is that President George W. Bush appointed Mr. Mroz to the Commission on White House Fellows in 2007.
Mr. Mroz has over many years has been engaged in the private practice of law, represented clients as a registered lobbyist, and advised clients in numerous industries as an independent consultant.
Richard Mroz is a graduate of the University of Delaware and holds a J.D. from the Villanova School of Law.
