Background

Dr. Zenon Christodoulou was nominated to the Board of Public Utilities by Governor Murphy and confirmed by the NJ Senate in August 2022.

Commissioner Christodoulou has a long and distinguished career in business, academia, culture and politics. He has been a management consultant in various industries and has owned successful businesses in print manufacturing, graphic design, the restaurant industry, and the media sector. Additionally, he has taught as an adjunct professor at William Paterson University, educating undergraduate and graduate business students in areas as diverse as organizational behavior, innovation, economics, and strategy development. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees at Raritan Valley College.

In addition to his work in business and industry, Commissioner Christodoulou is actively involved with the Greek American community. He is Founding Chair of the NJ Hellenic-American Heritage Commission and global chair of AHEPA’s Hellenic and Cypriot Affairs Committee. He also served as President and CEO of the Greek American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey.

Dr. Christodoulou has been a voice for policy and politics in national, New Jersey and county government, having served as the Somerset County Democratic Vice-Chairman since 2006.

Commissioner Christodoulou earned his doctoral degree from the Pace University Lubin School of Business in Management Science, his MBA from Fordham University in International Finance and Management, and his BA from Rutgers College in Economics and Philosophy. He also sits on the board of many cultural and philanthropic organizations within the state and nation.

Dr. Christodoulou lives in Somerset County with his wife and three children.
