CAMDEN - Partnership for Safe Water, an alliance of seven drinking-water organizations, Thursday recognized American Water, the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., with safe water awards at 27 facilities across its national footprint, among them New Jersey American Water.

New Jersey American Water was one of four regional water companies under the American Water umbrella to receive the 25-year directors award for its Delaware River Regional Water Treatment Plant.

The awards, which honor the efforts in continuously optimizing water treatment plant and distribution system operation and performance, were recently announced by the American Water Works Association.

“American Water is pleased to be recognized for our continued commitment in delivering safe, clean, reliable and affordable drinking water to our customers and communities,” said Cheryl Norton, executive vice president and chief operating officer, American Water. “This recognition highlights our employees’ commitment to providing high-quality tap water, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.”
