FOLSOM - South Jersey Gas and Elizabethtown Gas have been named 2025 Most Trusted Brands by Escalent. The subsidiaries of SJI were two of 40 top-performing utilities recognized for significantly outperforming the industry average.

“The obligation to our customers extends far beyond the delivery of safe, reliable, and affordable natural gas, and we are proud of this recognition,” Steven Cocchi, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, SJI said.  “We will always be committed to earning the trust of our employees, customers and communities we serve.”

Brand trust is measured by a composite score of performance on customer focus; community support; communications effectiveness; reliable quality; environmental dedication; and company reputation. The Communications Intensity Index—a metric reflecting per-customer communication spending—is 17% higher than the industry average, fueled by greater customer recall of distinct utility messages delivered across multiple channels.

In addition, the 2025 Most Trusted Brands are successfully reinforcing their value proposition, with customers rating them 7% above average for offering reasonable rates for the services they provide.

“The utility value proposition continues to evolve,” Suzanne Haggerty, Director of Syndicated Research, Escalent said. “Value encompasses improved reliability, opportunities for savings, better customer service, ease of doing business, and the utility’s active role in supporting the community—delivering a broader sense of fairness and value that customers recognize and appreciate.”
